To secure bookings and protect local hosts from last-minute cancellations, travelers pay a 10% advance deposit. This deposit is held in a secure escrow account managed by TravelBuddiz and is only released to the host after the traveler meets them and shares the meetup OTP.
The remaining 90% of the trip fee is paid directly by the traveler to the host during the trip. After the 10% platform commission, hosts retain 90% of their published price.
TravelBuddiz charges a flat 10% commission from hosts on successful bookings. Travellers do not pay any additional platform fees. Trip listing and creation is completely free.
It is our industry-first security handshake. When travelers book a trip, they receive a secure 4-digit Meetup OTP. The host only receives their escrow payout when the traveler meets them at the destination and provides this OTP.
We offer a full refund if the trip is cancelled before 7 days of the trip start date. However, no refund is available if the cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the trip start time. This policy ensures fairness for both hosts and travellers.
